Hi Everyone.
I routed and copper taped a three lane track. This is my first try at it so the tape broke two times on a lane. I patched the break by putting another piece of tape over the broken section and using the knife tip to tap through to the tape below. My middle lane, which I did last has no breaks. All cars have more punch and are faster in the middle lane. Power taps have been included around track after the broken sections. Can you think of something that I did wrong or have any hints

My first step would be to take the time to solder those breaks. Easy to do.

I agree with Harry. The way you did it works, but it's a temp. fix.

If a lane has less power then there must be a break in the tape someplace. Hairline cracks in the tape can be hard to find. Chances are that you put tension on the tape as you put it down that that can cause it to crack later on. Another way to fix the cracks is with conductive silver ink. Radio Shack has conductive ink pens from time to time and they can be found on Amazon as well, but they are overpriced.

I will try to fix it this week end. Is there a best method to sodder?
