hello, im about to put down my third coat of paint on my track. I have painted and sanded after 2 coats, using a foam roller. I have noticed after sanding with 220 paper that the track felt nice and smooth, took away the orange peel.NOT really worried about the look of the track as im going to weather it. so does having a nice smooth finish have advantages over not sanding. Going to be running rubber and urethanes.

Smooth is good. More rubber meeting the road. But the best will come over time as you lay the rubber down naturally.

What grit paper would you recommend...

It will help especially if you tape your track with copper. Living in the south and the track in the garage, tape has stayed in place. My other two tracks before sanding had issues with tape coming up. Just my two cents.

Tony is correct, it helps that as well.

I sanded mine with 1000 grit wetsanding paper.

Photobucket account will do the job. There's an app also that will upload your photos.
