The skidpads are there temporarly as I am working on them until I get the design I want for the wood. The wood was free and so the only expense is the tape.

Dan,
That looks like a VERY nice testing facility until you get the wood track going!
I love pictures of shops and work areas to see how different people do it. I have thought about a skidpad, but never made one and just hit the track. I like the fact that you've got three distinct track types for tuning setup. Is that Carrera and Scaley?

L-R -- Carrera, Pat Moore's (Pzooc) and my new wood surface, and Scaley. Next will be Ninco and the finally SCX. All the track surfaces in our club.

I hope to build a rack to hold them until needed.

Any hints about the design for the new track? Of course, the saloon for me is at the top of the list, I'm sure.

There is an L section to get the base for and the saloon will be on that section.

So, half the track is done. The other 8x4.5 will be designed to mate with this.
The guy who took the picture is one first class photographer and a wonderful person. He is so nice I could never say a mean thing to the guy!

That looks like a great surface. Pat impressed me as knowing what he was doing, so are you going to match it or redo the whole thing at once when its built? Most people don't know the person they get track sections from, but you have the luxury of knowing Pzook (or however he spells it), and knowing you can trust his work. Pretty lucky. Is his track about two feet higher off the ground than everyone else's? If I were him, that's what I would do just for fun.

I will match it -- same cans of paint.
Every drawer is full except one.

@$@ ^$% @%$ ^@%$ -- I have to move it a few inches to the right to get Pat's L to miss a pillar!

Can you move furniture and extend to put the pillar right through the infield of the L?
