Very nice oval.

I bet you find the oval is addictive.

When my kids come (with theirs ), the rally track is completely ignored in favour of everyone slugging it out on the oval.

That looks great. I like the idea of stringing lights instead of going with lighting banks. It should make for some pretty dramatic lighting during night runs.

Now what you need is a GI Joe gun, mounted to an archway that says "Welcome to Shotgun Speedway!"

My boys had some GI Joe stuff, and I don't think I ever saw anything as tame as a shotgun! Maybe they had it, there was so much of that junk all over the house. Their weapons were all hydraulic ramjet thermonuclear bludgeonator hoohah-- hand held.

Its been fun watching it come together with you, Dave. I'm jealous that you finished so far ahead of me.

I've always been a pump guy, except for a 10 gauge goose gun (cannon) that is bolt action and has a 39 or 40 inch barrel with a polychoke beyond that. Its hardly surprising that I haven't hunted with any of them in close to 35 years. That 10 ga. is a booger! A guy I used to bird hunt with had the most beautiful 12 ga. O/U Ithaca, that sounded like a pipe organ when it fired, it was so solid. I used to wait to hear him shoot, I liked it so much.

Dave, you should make a gateway with crossed s/s guns over the drive, or just as a sign out in the infield. I've been thinking a lot about a name and logo for the swamp track. Still undecided, though. Bound to be gators and mudbugs somehoworother, though.

A good old Parker! Lots of those in people's family histories. Many years ago I worked at York Arms, one of those early 20th Century sporting goods places with safari planning services, a beautiful Olde Town birch canoe hung from the ceiling, and African trophies all over the place. I learned a lot about those fine old guns like Parker, O.C. Smith and others. It isn't the fancy handmade guns that last. Its those guns that farmers depended on. BTW, All my pumps are Mossbergs, as is that cannon bolt action.

Oh yeah, and my wife sez, "You're screwed". I read her the part about your wife's plan.

Dave, that looks awesome! You did a great job on that track all around. Love the scenery and the banners on the walls. Only thing its missing is is tire and paint marks on the walls but those will come soon enough im sure. Great little oval.
