Today was 'rout the gains' day.. Routed a regular slot on a scrap and spent a good amount of time
setting the gain for a depth of 0.040 inch.. checked and double checked, then routed this part :

However, some parts seemed deeper than others so I started taking measurements and found some
spots were dead on and others were at 0.025
Seems that due to routing it there on the table frame, there are some spots that sag ever so
slightly, and due to the router base having a 6 or 7 inch span, it would straddle in some spots
making the cut not quite flush and deep enough..
So I put a 4 x 8 sheet of wood on the floor in the corner of the basement as a flat surface and redid those parts
I had already done.. This time, a perfect 0.040 all around. I spent an hour in the corner making lots of dust.
(at least it was confined to a small spot)
The entire layout is now routed and ready for me to paint the gains.. Progress is good :D
