I don't think the actual track will need a slope as steep as the picture shows, but it's planned to rise one foot every five or six horizontal feet after Eau Rouge. It's a pretty serious hill, so getting Eau Rouge just right will be critical for a decent lap time. Eau Rouge is going to be squeezed, so drivers will have to be smart!

Funny you should ask. I've taken a long time off the project, but my friend and I are getting back into the garage either Saturday or Sunday. While the weather was getting comfortable in the fall, I had to choose between driving and working on the Mini, or working on the track. I chose the car, but now that the car is parked for the winter, it's time to get back to the track. I expect to have an update by Monday evening.

So, I went to the swap meet in Cincinnati two weeks ago. I saw Brian, and he asked me "How's the track going?" Jim showed up, and he asked me "How's the track going?" Pat showed up, and he asked me "How's the track coming along?" James showed up, and you know what he asked me? "How's your mom?"

Not really. He asked me "How's the track going?"

So, since I got the Mini out of the garage on Monday, I had room to make a lot of sawdust. One of the pieces needed modifying, so I knocked those out last night, and now it's back to assembly.

Like you said, not much has changed, at least visually. But the change should make a big difference when it's time to lay the track pieces on the platform.

I'll see if I can get a shot of the neighbor's dog for you tonight. :)
