:angry-soapbox: I loved Star Wars as a kid, but then the revisions came along and the tone of the movies changed along with the alterations. A friend of my wife once said that the movies that we loved as a kid have been changed to such an extent that they simply do not exist anymore. Thankfully I have pre-Special Edition VHS copies, but really Lucas' incessant changes to the films have soured me to the point where I won't even watch those anymore.

I see all of the Star Wars pallets over-flowing with merchandise at stores these days and can't help but think of Yogurt's merchandise room in Space Balls- particularly the Space Balls toilet paper.

I do however have very fond childhood memories of watching the tapes non-stop in my parents' wood-grained, top-loading VCR. There's a certain Ewok song sung at the end of Return of the Jedi that will never get out of my head, but you won't find it on any dvd or blue ray release. It's unfortunate, but unless you grew up with the movies prior to the late 90's Special Editions, you won't know what I'm talking about.

I agree with goosesnapper I remember seeing return of the Jedi in theatres when I was 9 and I was hooked been ever since hopefully these new 3 will be better than the last cgi bombs.

I saw the first 3 in the theaters when they first came out.....nothing has matched them since! Hoping this new one won't prove a disappointment.
