I've tried to do them in such a way that you should be able to remove the head from the regular driver figure, fill the hole, drill a 1/32 hole and drop the new head in place.

Lynne, you could make a living out of this kind of talent. Just sayin'...

you have a good eye and a lot of patience . what size brush do you use?

Brush sizes range from 00 to 5/0. I find real sable has the best resilience with the superfine brushes.

Fabulous Embs. If you had to charge people what it cost you in materials and time I suspect that people wouldnt want to part with $100 per head. We all complain about Chinese quality but we have become accustomed to not wanting to pay any more than 99 cents for anything and wanting 20 of them even though we really don't need more than the one. The true craftsperson is dying a slow death.

Put me down for 20 assorted heads Embs. Where do I send you the $19.80. :D

No I just have an Aussie sense of humour which Im sure is appreciated by Embs. Believe me I fully appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that Embs has shown. For the life of me I know that I could never do that good a job. Never. You cant buy that sort of quality, those heads are a work of art.

Details of the eyes are spectacular! Gotta give credit to Immense Miniatures for making those castings available. Wouldn't it be cool if I could send them a photo and they would cast my face? That and an Ember paint job would be worth quite a bit for all the laughs I'd get.

Don't worry about Fabio. He's just like an annoying big brother. The best thing is he can't reach to pinch.

Actually, the longest time is spent in cleaning them up and drilling the pins. Then it depends on the complexity of the helmet. But working on a dozen at once it's probably just over an hour to paint the basic faces and solid helmet colours. Maybe another hour and a bit for the details. The hardest helmet was actually the Spence one due to the sunburst colour. The Ireland checker band just takes a steady hand. 2 coats of gloss on the helmets and 3 or 4 to fill the goggles.

It's actually faster to do them in batches than it is to do them individually.

Ouch says she as I lean across the kitchen table while mum's not looking. Actually Embs I need to butter you up lots as I may be calling on your services for a related slotting matter. :oops:
