I need a simple orange stripe decal for a Porsche 962; one that will give me the same overall look as this pic of a Porsche 956.
http://www.homeracingworld.com/slotgulf ... tside1.jpgI've looked through the decal manufacturers sites and can't find one that I can get to MA quickly. I know that I can source it from Australia, but the timeline won't work for me. I need it by Wednesday, November 5th. Pretty unrealistic, but that's the timeline that I'm working with. Any ideas?

Pactra has colored tapes in various widths, usually in the RC section of most hobby shops. Or it'd be an easy mask and paint job. Good luck.

If your local hobby shop doesn't have it - it looks like Staples and Lowes may be options for an electrical tape alternate:
http://www.staples.com/Scotch-Orange-PV ... uct_772161 http://www.lowes.com/pd_447115-48412-60 ... facetInfo= If the width is too wide, you can roll off a portion onto a piece of glass, porcelain plate, etc and use a ruler with a metal straight edge and an exacto knife to slit/cut to the width you want.

Thanks, I have a tape option, but I really want the lower profile (flatness) that a decal can give me. Experience with masking is that the paint tends to lift or come off when the tape is removed. Anyone know of any decal options out there? Thanks.

If you have a printer, you could get some decal paper from the local hobby store and print your own?
That's to easy of a fix as im sure you already thought of that.

No, I haven't done that. I have considered it, but I have no experience. I Have an HP deskjet 3520 printer and don't know if that would give me the quality of print that I'd need for a decal. I also have Adobe Photoshop, but have not used it yet............ So, there is a learning curve here; I'm just not sure how steep or if I can do it. Although, it should be pretty simple if I can source the paper.

Trust me, If I can do it anyone can, I use excel, and use the auto shapes function to make the stripes, colors are pretty good too.I have gotten the gulf color out of the standard color choices by varying the hue slightly.
If you have a hobby lobby near you, they usually carry the testors decal paper. I also use an HP printer. the graphics are Ok for most decals, but for stripes or scallops and such, its pretty good.

Well, I revved up my Adobe Photoshop app for the first time today and it gave me some options that I think I can work with. I have a sheet of decals printed out now and tomorrow I'll go to Hobby Lobby to see if I can locate some clear decal sheets. Then I'll print to the sheets, see how it all comes out and use them to decal the car if it looks reasonable.
Thanks for the advice and the push.......
