I primed and sanded the car then applied Rust-Oleum 2X spray paint. It has worked well for me in the past.
Well now the finish has the orange peel effect. Suggestions ?
Was wondering if...used the asoprophyl alcohol bath and try again.
Or can I strip it and coat it with the Future floor polish and then repaint it.

Suggestions welcomed !
Many thanks.

You might be able to polish it out if you have the polishing kit.Otherwise, strip it down and re spray.one tip is to immerse the can in warm water for a few minutes.makes the paint flow better and lessens the chance of orangepeel.

Ditto on the above advice; one additional recommendation, after stripping wash the body with Dawn dishwashing liquid/warm water and once you dry it try not to handle it with your bare hands (body oils).

Are you trying to paint in cold and high humidity environment? Wait for summer or paint in the wife's kitchen where its nice and warm :D

Is that the first good weather Buffalo ever had?

I have a lot of experience with these white kits as well as the Camaros. I can tell you that the clear coating on these is insanely tough and thick. I use 91% isopropyl, used about 20 minutes at a time, then I scrape the clearcoat off with the back of my thumb. Once you get it going, you will have it off in no time. But don't treat it like paint- it isn't paint, its an acrylic seal. That's why its so tough.

I also recommend using 0000 steel wool to rough the body and give the primer something to "bite" into. I also warm my spray cans in hot water - you'll be amazed at how much better the paint flows.

Look forward to seeing it!
