Removing artin stockers stickers without trouble ?

Hi,

I recently bought 4 artin 1/32 stockers. These cars come with a sheet of stickers. I plan to properly paint the cars sooner or later (with real decals, varnish and all), but in the mean time, it would be nice to apply these stickers instead of running just plain color cars.

But before doing this, I'm wondering if anyone already tried to remove these stickers once applied. I don't want to ruin the cars doing this, the day I will want to properly detail them.

thank you !

Thanks !

By the way, could you help me to identify the period/era from when artin stockers are inspired, to help me choosing the future cars decorations ? I think they would match quite nicely my SCX 2005 montecarlo on the track, personnaly.

And logically, the following question : what brand/range of waterslide decals kits would you suggest, then ?

thank you a lot

Design is around 2003/04 So you can get creative.

Pattos makes decals for the Scaley/SCX models. You will have to do some trimming here and there but you can make them work.

thanks for the tips. I didn't know that pattos was making lexan bodies too. Really cool, especially they are matching some of my favorite cars.

On a "generic" chassis (scratchbuild or not) it will be great for my group of racers, better than giving them expensive and fragile resin kits.

Make sure to use the 91% alcohol and not rubbing alcohol, the rubbing alcohol is diluted with oils to be used on skin without drying it out so badly, and the 91% IPA will not leave any oily residue behind.

Tha Artin Stickers, are 2 part, as you will find when removing them.
The decal part itself sits ontop of a sticky clear base that holds it onto, the body.
I have removed the decals, only to find the clear sticky section is left on the body.
It appears to be of a cellulose make, so as mentioned above 91 proof alcohol will remove it, as will a product called Gum gone. I have found that running your fingernail, over it will remove the most part of the cellulose, but will still need to clean off the residue with one of the above solvents.

Thanks !

I hope to make the 4 cars later on the year. Maybe on next holidays, at best (considering my other hobbies, real life and current slot car projects).

Until this day, I'll run the cars as is, with the factory stickers ;)
