I got this kit about 2 weeks ago. It's nearly finished. I still need to locate better wheels, trim the guide wire and mount the digi chip.

ok more info
where did you get the kit?
I was wondering for a minute if it was an RC car with that wire out there - the wheels look mad maybe you only need to change the front smaller diameter and narrower as well
how does the size compare to Ninco Karts

I like it, Bruce. Actually looks like some of the Formula SAE karts with the bigger wheels.

I bought over in Germany. I do a fair amount of business/trading with Michael at
http://www.slotcar-factory.de/shop/F...o7aobksvcduli5They are great folks to deal with. I was thinking of just putting BRM fronts all the way around?? The photos make it look goofy. It looks much better in hand. It will be wired for Carrera digital.

That really looks very nice indeed.
What scale is it? I was thinking about trying to motorise some die casts, but this really looks the business.
Also, I noticed the new Ninco Karts are a terrible price in USA (they're fairly reasonable here); How do you think this kit would compare?
David.

I'm not really sure. Maybe 1/18, 1/12? If I think of it, I'll take a photo next to a 1/24 Carrera.

Thanks. That would be helpful.
Web link keeps giving a "closed for maintenance notice".
Do you know if they've ditched the website and gone over to some rubbish like Facebook instead?
David.
Edit: I e-mailed Michael. The site really is down for maintenance, and should be up and running again by 6.00pm today(European time).

Looks pretty good to me in the photos.
I agree wheels do look a bit big in the photos but don't detract from it too much.

The problem with smaller wheels is the cart is already 1/8 in off the track. not much more to go. I think the real problem with the wheels is that they look too good to be go cart wheels.

If you haven't looked it up yet, check out Formula SAE:

Slotcar-factory.de is a real find,Bruce!
Anyone who hasn't already done so should take a look.
There is some real drool-worthy stuff there - and not just the Karts, which I'll bet compare pretty favourably with the Ninco offerings once you get them together.
And prices seem not too bad, considering.Only thing is, I expect it helps if you can speak German;I couldn't get Google translate to work on the site.
David.

Hmm, Google translator works for me when my wife is too busy. The Ninco carts are smaller and use a HO type motor. The cart I have is bigger an uses commercial type motor.

Site shows these as 1/24 scale. Really nice. I like it and would really be interested in getting a complete kit with everything. Seems you have to get it in pieces, chassis and then wheels etc....
This would be cool if they had someone here that sold the kit.......BRUCE, perhaps you can cut a deal and sell these state side? In kit form. You'd probably get a lot of interest....just saying.
