I used to put a cardboard box on the kitchen stove when I sprayed bodies. The range hood took care of the fumes. After I got a new stove and kitchen floor and also started to use an air brush I deciced to build a spray booth. This was built from some chipboard and plywood that I found at the curb on trash pickup day. There is a bathroom vent fan with some elephant trunk with a furnace filter to catch most of the spray. For light there is a 65 watt CFL floodlight and I got a lazy Susan as well.

I need one to, what is the size of your box?

Nice work. I need something as well. Don't know how many paint jobs have to get rescued from insect prints, etc. from having to paint outside.

The booth is 15 inches high, 12 1/2 inches wide and 12 inches deep. Not much heat from the lamp, it is a CFL, but an incandescent light could be used. There is lots of air flow, which helps to speed drying.

Great idea on the spray booth Richd, looks like I'm gonna have a busy winter in the basement.

The spray booth works great, I just did this HO body and I could hardly smell the paint. I connect the exhaust to some existing ductwork that vents outside.

Here is my spray booth,can be vented to any out side window.Exhausted by the ductwork booster fan sitting on top of the box, hooked to expandable dryer venting with lighting provided by a florescent tube fixture on the inside front at top,also with the rotisserie for the bodies. To be honest I still like painting the bodies mounted on a
paint stick and some where that has lots of room for the fumes.

I started building 1 tonight, hope to use it Sunday :banana-dance:
