enamel over top of Laquer?

With the first statement being, "don't do it anyway", here's what I know...
Lacquer is "hot" (lots of volatile carrier), so it could make a mess over enamel is that isn't very old. But with a good primer, it should be fine on older, fully cured enamel. Enamel would almost certainly dissolve a layer of lacquer before it solidified, as it takes forever to fully cure. I imagine there could be mush as a result.
I have been lucky the few times I did some striping on an enamel car, using lacquer to get a very thin profile.

I like the enamel red over the laquer red, on my AMX project, of course I already have an laquer primer down.

Denny,
I find I'm usually able to shoot Testors and Tamiya enamel over Duplicolor Automotive primer. Past that though, I don't like to "test" my projects too much LOL.

Like I say, the rule rule is, "Don't do it". Mixing layers of different materials just isn't wise for any reason. But you might get lucky and get away with it, by what David and I have said.
