This is another useful book that includes basic information on painting.

There are samples from various chapters at that site. It is easy to find on ebay. Basically as soon as you progress beyond basic sanding and drilling of the ABS plastic chassis of RTR cars into building braces etc or hardbody 1/24 cars you will find this a pretty useful book. It's not much help for resin bodies though.

It might be all some people need. It covers most bases when it comes to styrene models.

I should have added that the book 'Modeler's Guide to Realistic Painting & Finishing' also includes information on how to paint with brushes and spray cans, and might be more useful for people just starting out. The first edition of it is good, even if it is a little dated (in terms of the airbrushes, compressors, and paints that it covers, but you can find it online as a PDF somewhere), but still very useful, and a completely updated version was published more recently.
