We have a special, Parma Womp - VW Bug - series starting at the local track and everyone has been encouraged to paint their own bodies verses using the generic pre-painted ones.
So to that end, I thought what better opportunity for some paint / technique "experimentation"!
The paint details for both of the bodies are below...
Enjoy!
First up - the "Fire Bug"
Preliminary coat on the front 2/3's of the body is with Parma Faschange Red (NOTE: when they say one coat they mean it! Otherwise instead of a red highlight - you get a different color/shade - even though it dries nearly clear on the body!)
Colors for the fade were Parma Faskolor paints:
FASORANGE - #40007
FASRED - #40003
FASBLACK - #40001
And for the little fire dude:
FASYELLOW - #40002
While I wasn't able to high light the yellow "fire dude" with the orange the way I had originally planned due to the Faschange masking the color (the orange looks like peach), I did like how the fade turned out, and think it may make for an interesting "novelty" body once it is cut out and mounted:

The second body (nicknamed "Tiger Beetle") turned out a little closer to what I was expecting/shooting for. :)
For this one, it was more of an experiment in masking as this was my first experience using Parma's masking tape (Fastape). I have to say that I definitely like how easily it cuts and it leaves a nice clean paint line to boot!
Main body - Mix of:
FASPEARL GOLD - #40053
FASORANGE - #40007
(Gave a nice metallic/pearl orange!)
Lower:
FASWHITE - #40000
Stripes:
FASBLACK - #40001
I think this one will look pretty "distinct" under the lights at the track! :)
