Metalizer Sealer

Postby Modlerbob » Fri Mar 21, 2014 1:54 pm

I use Testors Metalizer sealer as my clear coat after finishing a project and up til now I have always waited to install the clear parts until after clear coating the project. Today I finally got around to testing whether or not the sealer would attack or fog the clear parts. I had a spare set of clear parts for a slot.It Sauber Mercedes C9 so I loaded up my airbrush and sprayed a solid coat of clear over the window. I am happy to report that there was no reaction and the window stayed crystal clear. Metalizer sealer dries to the touch within an hour and does not yellow later which is why it is my preferred clear coat.

That whole metalizer series is good stuff. I wouldn't think of building a car with the "exhaust" color. I'm hooked.
