Kiwi Camaro

Postby chris » Sun Jul 05, 2015 3:07 am

New Zealand racer 'Red' Dawson drove a series of muscle cars over his career but it was this Camaro with it's ruff 'n' tuff cigarette livery is one of my favourites. Certainly not an exact replica, some of the small sponsor decals are wrong and I need to make up 'Red Dawson Racing' in white over the back wheel arch (but the printer doesn't want to play). Patto's decals, mixed wheels and tyres from the spares bin and rattle can paint from the local hardware shop. Passes the 3 foot rule for me ;)

Chris- I think you did a fabulous job on Red's Camaro! This is a great livery and I think you captured it perfectly. The scoop turned out fantastic as well!

Now, about the track...we WANT to see more!

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Bob, the scoop was made out of Evergreen brand plastic sheet. Its thin so I just built it up in layers till I got the basic dimensions. Then it was just a case of sanding to shape, gluing on and a bit of filler to blend in.
Chris.

Nicely done. It's tough getting all the sponsor decals just right.
