Absolutely beautiful, Jeremy. I can sympathize on the decal and tape thing; when I did my T/A Javelin I had tape that pulled off paint and when I did my decals I misjudged the clearcoat and when they came off the paper they curled up and were useless. Love the color combo on this. I think between you and Shotgun we have the "German-ness" of the car covered! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Back when we were all building 1/25 modifieds, I got the idea of buying lots of each size of the tape I used and keeping it in ziplock bags with the air pushed out. I decided that shipping charges were eating up my slot car budget (my local hobby shop went under), and this was one of the things I tried. It worked. I am still using the last of that bunch of tape and its still good.

Meanwhile, I think that is the best paintjob I've seen on the Carrera VWs. It recalls the days of the little silver Porsches screaming around the track all over Europe. My favorite part is that it also has the effect of making the VW Beetle body more visible under all that Group 5 fairing.

Is there a good technique for masking and painting different colors on a car? Every time I try to mask, the paint bleeds in to the base color. Which then causes me to go back and mask that color, and paint the original color back on the car. It is a vicious cycle. I've even tried painting with a brush but that always leaves streaks. Any helpful hints?

Waytoomuch - burnishing - how do you go about it? I try to get as much adherence as possible, but some paint always bleeds through
