"Crossroads Coupe" 5 window in 1/32 scale!

Postby btaylor » Fri Jan 16, 2015 8:32 pm

Finally have an opportunity to give something to the hobby, and specifically Oval racing. Jalopy style!
The Oval guys have wanted and needed a true scale 1/32 five window coupe for scratch building, and I have been wanting to get further into resin casting. This is where the paths crossed, I pulled my first bodies tonight, and I am pretty happy with the results!
Is it Munter, M/T,or RMS quality?, no its not. But it will get better as I refine the molding process, and I enlist the help of some of true resin gods around here. But for now, we have a 1/32 30's era coupe to build some racers out of. 3 3/8" wheelbase, and fits a "Stinker" style chassis very nicely!
I give you the "Crossroads Coupe"

I do believe that is the body for the 00 car that ran at Tunis back in the day. I need to dig up a pic to make sure. It is actually one of the cars that I was going to build because it was a bright yellow.

Are you kidding me? That thing looks great!!! Nice effort!

First piece of advice? Stop using Alumalite silicone. I've no idea why theirs crumbles and ends up in the resin.

Bob, that is great! I'm not a jalopy guy but I am a street rod guy so I'll need to get one of these from you......let's see  lowered, maybe with a chopped top with one of Shotgun's flatheads for power....oh yeah!

Thanks everyone! I am pretty happy with this myself, Till now there hasn't been much available other than the MPC 34 Ford coupe. they are great, and I have quite a few, we just needed another body style that was common to the Era.
Once I get production up on these, and the quality is what I think it should be, I will start sending out some of these for those interested.
Again, thanks for the Kudos, and the advice.

Hey Bob, I'll trade you one of your original 1/32 5 window coupes for one of my original (and also not so polished) 1/32 53 Studebakers.

What say you, eh?
