VINTAGE DRAGSTERS

Postby gonegonzo » Sat Dec 06, 2014 9:51 pm

I drag race slot cars in 1/24th scale . I have an idea to build a Vintage looking dragster using modern motor and running gear instead of the vintage Pittman and Kemtron motors . All of them were designed and ran as sidewinders . I'd also like my dragster to be a sidewinder as well .

I have a picture I've copied and will now try pasting so we all know what I'm talking about .

Well , that will get you there . I'm sorry it didn't come thru click and go style . Anyway the Vintage dragsters were two slabs of aluminum to cover the right and left outsides with the running gear in the middle . They were all go and no show and looked "Down To Business" .

If any of you have tinkered with these or built a similar project , would you touch base with me . You might be able to save me some leg work .

Thx ,
Gonzo

Gonzo I haven't built one but remember seeing them run as a kid. Had plans on building one starting with a WRP C-07 sidewinder chassis motor mount and a visit to the K&S rack and a ruler and drawing it out, Keep you progress posted if you build it, should be a interesting project. Good luck Hillbilly
