Just finished tuning my ninco Porsche 356. I didn't care for the rag top. I'm not much if a convertible guy. So I decided to melt the pins on the top and remove it. Well I now had to deal with the 4 holes that the pins had been in. So after about 34.7 seconds of brainstorming I got the idea to make a roll bar to fill the holes.

I used the ground wire from some standard housing wire I had laying around from rewiring my outside lights. I cut a small chunk and bent it then cut the two small back support beams and bent them. I then measured out the holes and drilled out a piece of wood for a jig and placed the three wires in and soldered them up and...... Boom a sexy little Porsche 356 drop top with no top!

We are racing pre 60's sports cars tomorrow so I needed to get this thing tuned. Wasn't a big fan of it but now.... It's towards the top of my list!

Looks great, better than mine. I used plastruct rod. I followed a double bar design I saw in a magazine.

Update. I added numbers to it Thursday and made it a race car :)

I did that one like a weekend racer. A car that could be used on the street, but still do duty as a parking lot racer. Hence no numbers or sponsor decals. :D
