I recently acquired a King Cobra kit with the monogram body, since the body more closely resembles the 64 cooper CM-3 , I thought I would do this version for a more accurate build, I will lose the roll bar though. Hope to get it into paint this week.

Making a little progress on the cooper. My stripes are to narrow, but I am leaving them alone, they gave me enough trouble getting them this far! Chassis is great, runs smooth, and is ready for the body. Should finish it up in a day or so.

Thanks Dave, there is a not so funny story on this one! I had paint issues, (big surprise for me)
I wanted to go the extra mile on this as it is a nice kit, I sanded, primed and shot the car over a three day period, wanting it to be really nice. I like to put a light clear coat on before the decals, and then seal it all up with a wet coat for shine. This body came in an awful orange plastic color, and when i put the first clear coat on,The orange bled through turning the whole car pink! I re-masked the stripes, and re shot the white. Thats where i lost some of my stripe width. its ok now, i lost a little body seem definition, but i think i can recover that. And it will get a nice coat of future instead of the clear top coat!

Well im glad to hear that! I thought I was just doing something way wrong!
I need to start using the water based paints again, at least they were fixable.

Nice build btaylor....a few hassles somewhere in the process builds you.
I have bought the rims and tires separately. They were the cheapest alloy rims I could find but by no means the poorest quality.
One thing to watch for is the id....it is slightly smaller than 2.38mm or 3/32"......which is way better than slightly bigger.

As well as what I can see of your track !!!
What do you use to mask off the car and do you have any pics of your track ? Are the decal homemade ?
Best wishes from Buffalo !

Bob that is great! And that clubman chassis looks neat, nice change from the Sebring. If I ever get down your way I'll be sure to bring my George Turner King Cobra with me!
