Got going on a new build, a classic Lotus Elite body by Munter.







Sits on a PCS adjustable wheelbase chassis driven by a stock Scalextric S can motor with a 9t pinion and 27t SCX crown on Cartrix metal wire wheels and PG tires. Guide's a Ninco spring one.



Body mounted with Evergreen plastic tubes, SCC 2-56 screw inserts and 2-56 screws.

Inspired by friend TF1250's beautiful green/silver rendition.





I'm thinking white with green stripes for mine.

This is one I need to do. A friend I used to vintage race with had one, painted the same way, chassis number 1338. Your
model turned out exactly as I remember it. Nice job.

Tamiya white primer's been applied. Detail parts (front and rear bumpers, driver and tray, front and rear windows, headlight lenses) ready for mounting.



PCS chassis with stock Scalextric S can motor runs just fine.



Pure white finish with green stripes and small assemblies to complete.

How did you do the transparent green strip across the windscreen? Im wanting to do that to a Porsche I want to build up.

What a fantastic model! The wheels really set it off.
Just changing the subject for a second, Rick asked about the coloured band on the windscreen, I just paint on the tinted laquer from a tin or jar of modellers paint before you mix it.

Sprayed a few coats of Tamiya TS-26 Pure White.



Better let it thoroughly dry before handling the body while fitting those pesky windows.

Looks great so far. One of my favorite chassis to use for scratch building.

Done!

Applied the green stripes cut from green electrical tape. Got the windows in by applying making tape across the frames, fitting the carefully cut windows into the open frames to be held by the tape and toothpicking flowable silicone along the window perimeters to secure them. Turned out better than I had hoped.

Glued in some headlights made from round styrene hole-punched and Lagartijakit lenses.









Finished with taping the interior tray/driver in place, painting details (headlight, signal, tail light, door handle and gas cap) and fitting front and rear bumpers.
