And of course my order is in for two! It is so good to see some new bodies coming out!, The hobby needs more Body styles to choose from for scratch building. I dont see any of the old plastic model manufacturers adding any, any time soon,and there are very few die cast's to choose from for mold making. Dave, i think you are on to something here!

So do I get this correct? Any 1/24, 1/25 scale model can be scanned and reduced to 1/32 scale and then printed. If so the sky is the limit, as there are oodles of the bigger scale models out there.

Would this also mean that any model or die cast could be reproduced in 1/32 scale? This is the makings of a real cottage industry. If the printing could be more exact, there may be no need to cast them. I think the Shapeways method of powder printing would allow car bodies with roofs to be printed, as the unused powder holds the rest in place until it hardens. That method would also allow thinner lighter bodies, I expect.

I will be following this one for sure, and watching for a for sale post.

Home run, pal. Definitely a home run. I can't wait.

I see potential with the 3d printers except for the cost. That is why I went with the extrusion type of 3d printer. The problem with those 3d printers is that you have to out-smart them. Like with mine, I have to slice the body for printing and then glue it together. The reason is that the 3d printers have problems with printing in space allowing the plastic to 'sag'. The more expensive printers will print a support in that 'space' to prevent the sag but then you must wait another two hours or more for the part to rinse out that support.
Looks like you have a good car to work with there. I might be interested in one if you make them available for my Dad had one for his first new car.
