That is an impressive build! The wheels are not correct as you said,but they look just fine to the un informed eye.
Its not something anyone would notice unless they were a military modeler i would think.
Either way, i like it and its a very cool build. Makes me think an old military ambulance would look right at home on my "60's"era dirt track,kind of a surplus thing that might have been used by the track.

Thanks Bob! I think one would look great on your track. This is a old Testor's kit. I am pretty sure it has been issued by another manufacture.

That is AWESOME!!! I always loved that style. The chassis seems like a great fit too. How's it run?

Thanks guys! I notice it doesn't have any door handles! It runs pretty good David. Not the fastest thing, but these trucks weren't anyway. It handles like a truck!
