Scalextric White Cougar Project

I love old Cougars.. (settle down..I'm talking about the cars)
Picked this one up from the Chicago Land Hobbies sale for $20 dollars..

Going to make a Trans Am type fantasy road racer out of it..
Testing out of the box revealed one badly out of round wheel (not tire..wheel) but I plan to change to the
'good stuff' from SCC anyways..
First.. took it all apart..

Next, I cut the front and rear valances off the chassis, sanded the body mounts on the chassis, and trimmed
the chassis all the way around so it will clear the body in every direction..

Next up.. taking the factory wiring an guide out and installing a Bnova adapter and slot.it guide..

The interior bucket is very deep on this car and I wanted no interference.. so that got sripped bare..

I cut a large portion of the bucket out, added some sheet styrene and mocked up a rally co-driver guy from a SCX MG..
(I cut the map out of his hands.. look a little odd but it was the only extra 'helmet guy' I had LOL)

A little paint.. a little goatee for the driver.. and it's looking better..

Quick test fit in the car..

I took a dremel to the wheel well openings.. Notice there is no body line there anymore.. The openings are
slightly larger so I can drop the body down a bit for a better stance..

Last night I shot it with some Testors rattle can green..

That's where I'm at.. Need to paint up some wheel inserts, add details and decals, and wire up the motor..
