All that being correct, I have to say that a chassis that mean lookin' would never run on a Home Racing Track in my world. Not unless they let me get to the voltage knob first! Maybe the reverse switch, too.

Calm down, it's just an image to get the blood stirring and the brain thinking. I am glad to see that when I read your response, I could see that it had indeed worked.

Rick & I compete from time to time in a travelling Retro racing league. We race 1:24 scale(?) Can-Am, Formula 1 and Stock Cars at various track around the southeast. There is a big race in Thomasville at The Viper Pit (more on the name in just a bit). That race is The Southern Showdown. There will be probably 30 to 35 racers there. It's a whole lot of fun. I had planned on attending, but my neurosurgeon suggested strongly that I wait until the next time. Bummer! So I'll stay home.

When Rick came up to play on DeBary Glen's track, he dropped off this chassis for me. He knows I've not been building and he just wanted to make sure I was ready to go to the races. Like I said, a very good friend.

This chassis is built with nothing larger than .039 wire for all the functional parts of the chassis. Oh, there's a couple of bits of .055 for motion limiters, but nothing in the framework of the chassis.

A very cool feature on this chassis is it has adjustability built in. If you find the car loose during testing or even in a race, simply turn the adjuster a half turn to the right (remember, "right tightly / lefty loosey") and the problem goes away. You can change your tire to a soft compound and then set the chassis up on the outer lanes. When you get to the center lanes, this chassis is a rocket ship. I like it.

We race on a 180 foot Engleman at The Viper Pit.

BTW - The Viper Pit is aptly named. The owner also has a shop where he custom "enhances" Dodge Vipers. I have ridden in a 1125 horsepower to the rear wheels Viper :text-nocomment: with him one day. I think I left a deposit in my pants. It was awesome. Sometimes you find a whole lot of the Vipers coming to the shop for Dyno Run Days. I find it hard to concentrate on slot car racing with that going on! :auto-driving:

Seriously, what kind of body fits that chassis? Is it the thing that looks like a skateboarder's ramp?

I'm in process of painting up a True Scale Products Porsche 917-PA for the chassis.

My problem is deciding to go with the "Gulf" livery or the "Porsche-Audi" livery. Both are quite attractive.
