Mad Max build under way!!!

I finally had a chance to start in on my Mad Max build this weekend!
The body is from Superjet slot cars (http://www.superjetslotcars.com/scledn.html) and is designed to use a Scalextric Falcon XB chassis.
The body posts line up nicely with the factory Falcon points, but it does require that the chassis be narrowed and shortened to fit since the valences are molded into the body, verses being attached to the chassis as would be normal on the Scalextric Falcon.
Below are some of the preliminary shots of the body, mods to the chassis, etc. Still a lot of work to do, but it is starting to shape up nicely!
This shows the side of the chassis after narrowing. Based on where the body sits, you do not want to remove this step completely - just thin it up. (I wish I had taken a "before" picture on this one):

This second shot shows the remaining "thinned" section - again, I'm sorry I don't have a "before" picture to share - but for anyone with a Falcon chassis in hand, it should be fairly easy to see how much material has been removed here:

Bottom view:

The driver from the Cougar "white" kit temporarily sitting behind the wheel (going to need to do a little work on him yet - plus get him dressed in "black" to look a little more like a member of MFP. :)

The Scalextric Falcon interior fits up inside nicely! I will have to loose the roll bars - but the dash and rear deck area fit/seal up nice on the resin body.

The body sitting on the chassis!
If you look, you can see where leaving the "step up" portion of the chassis on the sides is advantageous to keep from having a gap to the bottom of the body. Plus, I am thinking, it may also serve as a handy spot to attach the exhaust to!

All in all, pretty stoked about how it is coming together so far! :banana-dance: :banana-dance: :banana-dance:
