I like to build the low slung later vintage asphalt Modifieds - it is sort of a regional thing, although I have seen similar cars that ran in other parts of the country... In any case the later vintage asphalt mods look very different than the vintage dirt cars. Super wide tires on all four corners and just mean-looking and low-slung.
Glad I was able to add to your interest in the vintage modifieds... For a great source, there are lots of these kinds of builds on the old board archive - mostly 1/24, but I do remember a couple of 1/32nds as well... I have found lots of inspiration on the HRW board(s)! Search them out if you can.
