Dundee,
You always strike a warm spot in the cockles of my heart each time you start to talk about the 1st gen Plymouth Barracuda! I talked my Dad out of a 1960 Falcon with a 2 speed Ford-O-Matic and a 144 cubic inch groud pounder into a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda with a 3 speed TorqueFlite (64 still had the push button gear selection) and a 273 cubic inch 2 bbl V-8. His was black with a gold interior. Actually the Barracuda got better gas mileage then the Falcon wagon as the majority of Dad's commute was on the highway.
I kind of had a stake in the selection of this car as I was in high school and was getting my driver's license later that year - 1965. So as a high school student with straight A's, I thought I could waggle my way into the Barracuda at least 1 day each week.
After graduating and getting a full time job, I bought a 1966 Barracuda Formula "S" car. 4 speed, bright red, black interior and the 235 horsepower 4 bbl 273 V-8 motor. I must say this was my favorite car to drive. Nice amount of power, it went around a corner quite smartly with the "Blue Streak" tires and upgraded suspension. I'd like to have that car back again.
Upon returing to the states after completing my hitch with the US Air Force, I lucked into a 1971 'Cuda 440 6-bbl 4 speed car. Very fast, a lot of fun to drive, but when the gas wars started in 1973, the 16 gallon tank and voracity for Sunoco 260 at 9 mpg kind of took away some of the fun of the car as a daily driver.
Many years later and a couple of kids, I found a 1967 Barracuda fastback. I yanked the tired old 273 2 bbl motor, found a 1973 360 block, did a lot of work on the block, added some X heads with 2.02 valves, a Mopar "Purple Shaft" cam and an 8 3/4 inch posi rear end with 3.91 rear gears. Lots of fun and I enjoyed that car.
Yep, lots of Mopars in my life!
Thanks for the memories.

Thanks for sharin such a great story!
This one should be lots of fun, have much more fun converting the statics rather than buying the prebuilts for the most part.
I have a "rusted out" 65 Cuda that use to make it way around Dundee Speedway that sits on a Monogram Vette chassis, shoed with some pretty fat tires parked way out back in the lot sitting on blocks, will have to send you pictures of that sometime too.

Here is a not so great picture I took years ago on my old track. It is obviously in the rear of the other. I will have to take some new pictures!

Thanks Dundee! I built two other 65 cuda's also. I post them all up soon. What Monogram Vette chassis did you use? Looks like a great fit!

I wish you guys wouldn't do this to me. Watching all these fantasy T/A builds I'm now dying to do some. Thanks alot. Looking great, I'm a sucker for fantasy liveries and 'what if' cars.
