Hi guys,
I've got a crazy idea. My track will be up and running soon and I want to get building again. I thought what better way then for a quick build to get the juices flowing.

My idea is to choose a day and build a car within 24 hours. Open to everyone, any scale, any class. Basically show interest by putting your name down, we choose a day, show what you are building prior to the event, on the event day everyone shows progress shots as they go, then post photos of finished car at end of the day. The car you build can be anything from a repaint of a RTR or an all out scratch build.

Crazy idea? Anybody in? If not, I'll do it myself :)

Sounds like fun. We wouldn't even necessarily have to do it at the same time, just within a 24hour period.

Sounds like a fun idea but there is no way that I could do one in 24 hours. It takes me at least 30 hours to come up with and idea and put it into CAD, then another 6 hours to print, and if I only use a clear coat, about two hours to assemble. Oh wait, if I start yesterday, I can finish up by next weekend. I'm like molasses, sweet and slow. :)

So we have 1 day or 24 hrs to scratch this car?

1 day would limit my paint scheme, but if this goes through, pm me that it is on.

Like someone else asked is this build in one day on our own schedule, or is there going to be an official start time?

It sounds like fun but cannot guarantee that I can do it on a specific day because my job often gets in the way of my plans.

Thanks for the interest. It would be good to have an official start date and time but obviously not everyone will have the same day available. So there's no reason you could just do it in your own time.

As mentioned it could be a full-on scratch build, or a simple repaint, or a scratch built chassis for a RTR car. Anything really. You would have your chosen car and all parts ready and chosen before the Buildoff. It takes me longer than 24hrs to choose what I want to build and how I want to build it. :)

I'll come up with a date at some stage and I'll talk to Harry about it. If the date does not suit we could change for a different date or you could do it in your own 24 gr period of your choosing

I'm ready now, when can we start? All I need to do is print out a body, chassis, and interior.
Then I can Paint and assemble.

What size is it? Will you be making them available?
I have a dozen more questions. I just love older cars.
