Here's the link to pictures of Smokey's Vette the 1:1 car.

This whole thing started with my finding Dick Thompson's Vettes on the net while looking for possible repaints for the Ninco Vette. I started a thread titled Vettes Ninco should do or something like that, in our old home. After seeing Dick's Vettes and wanting to build them. 9carfan (Matt) agreed to do the decals and it all came together when SCC brought out their steel wheels. I did both of the Vettes that I found on the web and kept looking for other cool Vettes that Ninco should have made. Next up was the black one you see here which races today in vintage events.

Then this summer I was fortunate to be at Harry's when Lee (ListerStormGT) and David R were there, I had a couple Vettes with me and we were talking about ones I wanted to do and I showed Lee and David Smokey's Vette. I said I would love to do it but lacked the painting skills. To my amazement and delight Lee offered to paint the car, so the body went with him back to Florida.

Here are a couple WIP pics. The body is in the mail now and I will post final pics when complete. Thank you Lee for doing this, amazing work. Jim

Jim, love the black Vette what wheel/inserts are those? You are very welcome on the Smokey car, glad I could help you out with it.

Thanks Harry, this is going to be one sweet car.
Lee those are BWA wheels and inserts from DArt Hobbies. They are the Halibrand insert with knock offs . Interestingly enough the correct wheels that should have been on the Ninco Vette I will use as the chassis for the Smokey car with the headlights. The No 6 Sebring car.I never realized they were wrong until I did some research on the black car above and spotted images of the Sebring car in the process. The black Vette was all about Matt's decals without that the car was nothing special. The hardest part was the little black holes in the wheels. Jim

I love all these vette's that are showing up here. The black #9 is a fine looking build. I also can not wait to see the new one complete. I have two to do myself, but mine are just cast resin copies of the Ninco body. Perhaps some thought could be given to a Vette proxy race like the MG proxy or the Sprite proxy over at the other board. It would be very cool to see these fine looking cars all in one place. Once again very nice workmanship. Regards, John

Thanks David, I'm starting on the chassis today. NC-1 with Slot-it gears and SCC steel wheels of course. I have to work this weekend so that limits the time.
John I can't wait to see the resin Vette, if you look around you can still get the Ninco Vette chassis. A proxy might be fun. Jim

Thanks DD I know Lee appreciates too. I think you should do the Vette right after the Avanti. Jim
