The hard part of this car was already finished. The body looks great and Carrera designed a very nice livery for it.

But the "hot rod" chassis made it useless for what I wanted. I decided to make a simple brass chassis for it so it could actually race in our OMFG division :)



Simple Stinker design as usual. No surprises here.



Going with the MT5 and 9/27 gears.

One thing I wanted to try and accomplish was to keep the interior intact. It's already a half-tray design and looks perfect. So in order to do this I mounted the motor bracket at a slight down angle as the photo shows. I accomplished that by mounting the wheels and placing wood shims under the ribs of the wheels to raise it slightly.





Also due to the body I had to make shims on my original mount plate. That's fine by me, it works.



It all worked out ok. Looks better to my eyes and it runs pretty good.

Todd...I have both of those first releases and it's funny because those are what inspired me to do it. They have just sat in the box and I kept saying I was going to make something with them. I bought all the parts...had a plan. Then the new one came out, it got the "treatment" and those are still there :)
