Starting on a Nascar build with my favorite liveried body from a Scalextric Pontiac.



Going again with an adjust-o-matic chassis.

Need a better car to run in Luf's Nascar class so here goes.

Love it!, V where do I find the brass motor mounts?
I keep seeing people building with them, but had not seen then for sale? Maybe I am not looking hard enough?

That's a Prof Motor product. Be sure to get the "forged" mount. The other version that doesn't look like that is a more advanced item.

Those early inline Scalextric Pontiac's have some of my favorite liveries.

Here's the Lycos one.



For rims, I've got some newly-introduced BRM aluminum Nascar ones coming from Pendle Slot. They are supposedly identical in dimension to the Scalextric plastic rims.

I believe those PM forged motor brackets were originally designed and offered by Al Penrose of BWA fame, years ago. I bought a number of his rtr chassis featuring these and was a fan from that time on.

If you order from PM get the 3/32 x 3/16 oilite bushings too or you can do Harry's brass tubing technique.

Wheels look good. I like those inserts too.

I can see my new challenger for Luf's Constructors Championship. You are building one for each class, and ticking them off. Done a front engine one yet? How soon do I have to relinquish my top podium step, eh?

A front engine metal chassis has never crossed my mind. Not my favorite layout so I'll stick to my rtr Monogram Greenwood Corvette for Luf's front engine class runs.

The BRM Nascar rims just came in today's mail.

They are NOT identical in dimensions as the original Scalextric Nascar plastic rims. Specifically the centre rib width is larger, the same as Slot It 15's at a fraction over 5mm.



Not a bad thing. Looks like a Ninco F1 front tire will fit and there's no doubt Paul Gage will have a variety of tires that work.

The inserts are nice and cover over the aluminum rim edge so I don't have to paint them black. They measure .425" in diameter.



I hope some retailer in N.A. will carry them.

On to getting the chassis rolling.

Good to know about the forged bracket's origin. Glad someone's offering them.

Got the chassis rolling with the BRM rims with front tires from the parts bin and PG urethanes on the back. Drivetrain's a Ninco NC5 boxer with 9/24 SCX Pro gears and the guide's a TSRF one.





Run's well but will add some pans for additional weight.

Mock fitted the body.



Will permanently mount the body after finding some larger diameter rear tires to fill the arch more.

Working out so far.
