NIce job on that chassis! I keep forgetting how nice those old Monogram bodies really are. Harry's Ferrari 275P got me thinking about them.
The car looks great. Nice work with the SW brass chassis and thanks for showing the details on the two brass motor attachment plates. I'd say I see about 9.9 IL brass chassis for every 1.0 SW brass chassis. Still not sure why...............

How did you mount the chassis to body?

Nice one Dave. I think the you have got the ball rolling for sidewinder scratch building. Not that I need anymore projects.

Just a little about what I have discovered with sidewinders using CAD. I keep the motor to rear axle distance at 0.445 when using the 18mm spur gear and the 6.5mm Pinion gear. And then the hole for the motor is 0.015 higher than the axle. Then I use the small 3/32 x 3/16 PM bushings since when I used the 1/8 brass tubing, the tubing would contact the motor. Maybe it is the plastic chassis but the gears mesh super smooth and it is really quite.
But really you have a super nice build going there. I can't wait to see how you mount the body onto the chassis.

Dave -
Two thumbs up!!!
Looks like to be a nice smooth runner! :D
If you are looking for another, slightly smaller version to do - there is always the McLaren M6B that Electric Dreams has on close out right now as well!

Yup, goes like stink!
Excellent job, and very good to see the sidewinder build. Some of these cars just call for that. Good on you Dave for showing how it's done.
Frankly I think it looks fine and clearly runs well.
