After three unsuccessful prints I finally got it to print. Now to clean it out without going through the body.
more to come later but now to decide on whether to cut out the windows and the intake out of the bed.
had to convert it to the STL file and close up the holes. It seems to be pretty close to scale from the measurements for 1/32.

Did you create the 3D shape yourself or get it from a website? Any problems getting the surfaces stitched together for printing?

Couldn't wait to do it in any order so I modeled up and printed a chassis for the Econoline.

The wheel base is a little off of scale, it turned out at 2.6250 inches instead of the scaled 2.8125 inches. I'll try to update that on the next print if I can.

Plenty of extra room for the big skins on the back.

I decided no tubular frame this time.

Its been busy around here with all the distractions (enjoyable ones with the grand kid s), but I am finally making some progress. While waiting for the epoxy to dry on the body I finished up the chassis.
I was also waiting on some 15x11 wheels from SCC to put inside the fat rear tires but in my opinion it was worth the wait.
And after a couple quick laps I noticed it will need some front end weight but I thought I had better wait until I get the body work done before adding weight. I just got through laying down the first coat of epoxy on the body so in a few hours I may be able to get the body ready for another coat. I'm trying my luck at the flares and hopefully it will turn out ok thanks to some excellent guidance here.
I didn't have any empty pill bottles laying around that were small enough but I did have two small Parma wheel tubes that were close. Doing the flares brought back some memories of when I was in the USAF. I used to crawl into the aircraft fuel tanks and patch up the leaks in the integral tanks with 8802 sealant. It was very similar to the epoxy which we would also use on the outside for a temporary patch. Anyway I would use an acid brush to apply the epoxy or sealant to get a smooth flow so I may try this on the second coat. Until later and thanks for reading my exploits in modeling.

After a second coat of epoxy on the rear fender flares, the flares were ready to be trimmed up to fit over the wheels better.

I used the ol' acid brush method for the second coat to get it smoother and limit the flare to a smaller size.

Hopefully tomorrow and can wet it down and see how much more sanding will be required before paint. But before that happens I need to finish the body mounts and ensure the front wheels clear the body.
