What's the best material to use for body posts on resin bodies? Plastic tubing, blocks, brass?

Welcome, Jody!
I use plastic tubing if the post doesn't have to be very tall, and I use epoxy to attach and align, followed by a great glob of epoxy for reinforcement once its just right.
I have seen very good work using brass bar, again, epoxied in place, drilled and tapped for mounting screws.
When there is an interior pan, you can just run screws directly into the pan from the chassis, assuring yourself of alignment that is perfect by drilling the pilot hole straight through the chassis members, as in the 1/24 and 1/32 jalopy cars we have so much fun with around here on HRW. As far as that goes, you can create a surface like an interior pan by epoxying a plate or brass or wood for the crews to go through. (look at photos on HRW oval racers for a better description).
Sometimes, when there isn't a lot of clearance, I use ordinary Velcro. But look out for alignment when you do that. I generally look for a way to guide the path of chassis to body to be sure the attachment is exactly where I want it when allowing myself to use Velcro.
Look for more ideas from other HRW guys, but that's a kind of starter set to get you going...

Whatever your screw threads into. This is easy stuff. Trust yourself.

Hi Jody,
Where in the great white how far north? I am in the Minneapolis area.
For body posts.....you can use plastic tube or plastic rod. The exact size depends on the mounting screws that you use. For resin bodies, I use 3/16' or 1/4" rod and drill the hole. As the other folks have said, I use a little superglue to set the post in position, then use JB weld or another epoxy to finish the mount.
But the velcro works too, depending on whether you have side pans or front/rear mounts that will work.

I'm 50 miles west of Fargo. Not many slot car people up here!

Fair enough.....that's a place where you would really have to cultivate some fellow racers.....
