What do you guys use to cut your tubing to duplicate lengths. Just a miter box or some other tool. I've tried with a tubing cutter and when I need 2 or more pieces the same length, I can't make it happen.

Rick I use a mitre box and hobby saw usually, but have used the miter box with the piece I want overhanging the end and a dremmel.
But to be honest , and not going with the expense of a small chop saw, I take a piece of small wood,
groove it to the length I want to repeat, put the tube in the groove, and cut at the overhang.
It works every time, andnis good if you are doing small spacers, as you can tape them into the groove and then cut without the little bit flying off, or burning your finger.
Thats just me, I am sure others have even better methods.

I heard a guy down here did it by marking the tube and then with a Stanley knife, vigorously rolled the tube on a flat surface with a Stanley knife blade(on the cutting edge)....sort of a reverse K&S tube cutter.
Then he would snap the tube off and tidy up with file or stone........I haven't tried it myself and continue to struggle to get two equal lengths.

John, I've often heard of the knife blade & rolling tube method, but have never tried it myself. For years, I've used a plastic or aluminum miter box with a razor saw. I still have them, but 3 or 4 years ago I bought a little chop saw on sale. I tend to cut most tubing a few thousands long. I have a 45 yr. old Unimat lathe that I use to true the ends of the tubing & get the exact length I want. A block of wood with a fence on it & a flat mill file works just as good for truing tubing ends.:)
