Thanks fellas, and not a problem Mark, couple o spacers and she'll be leveled out real nice like. And I told the boys in the garage to expect the man to come down on em about that anyway, they aint much on readin all the rules. Id be happy to run em with you if Im not already committed to something, lemme know when you're thinking.

Those steelies are 15x7

Tested out real nice on Guy's Scaly Sport track, Id expect it to do okay on the lumber also.

I chopped the top and trimmed the chassis. Unfortunately the resin was too brittle to separate the rear window arch from the roof, as I had hoped to save it. I may attach a new rear window arch to the eventual rollcage bar. I also had to cut off the top of the front window frame with the roof.

As feared, there are bad tire clearance issues. I installed the smallest (6mm) Yellow Dog tires, and they don't come close to being inside the fender on the side opposite the gear. The width limitation is set by the motor, so even trimming the chassis isnt going to provide much additional room to work with. I may be able to get more room by mounting the chassis off-center and cutting away the unnecessary material on the inside of the wheel hubs.

I thought about cutting into the chassis to mount the motor in-line, but that would create a huge conflict with the seat and driver.

I hope you can work it out. It really would be a kick to see a Studie on the track. There was a Golden Hawk in my neighborhood when I was a kid. It was black with that huge gold foil on the side, and I think the interior was white leather. The woman who drove it was a spectacular 1950's classic big-haired blonde glamour girl (translate that as middle aged trophy wife), like someone from a movie. I don't know who she was or where in the neighborhood she lived, but she must have had a rich hubby. In those days, Memphis didn't have any single women who could afford that car.

The Stude looks awesome! Sorry to hear about the issues!

How about cutting a block of wood to the width you need, heating the rear wheel wells carefully and using the wood to spread the body in the few slightly? I have done that on more than a few resins that have curled in, so it should work. I'd use a hair dryer or warm water. Just take it slow and easy!

Must've missed that one! I also use a block of wood when curing resins that is specific to each body. While it is cooling I use it to ensure the rockers don't curl inward.

that is totaly cool, glad you decided to go with the body. I would suggest going inline like you mentioned to solve the clearance issue, or you could use a Carrera stocker chassis. As long as you can get at least a half tray interior your golden. BTW what size wheel are you fitting with 7mm or 8mm. also you need steel wheels all around on the finished unit. I have a couple carrera chassis that are cut to much for stock use but would do you good if your interested. LMK and I`ll be glad to ship 1 to you.
