This one is a little underscale; 1/36-1/37, so thinking small will definitely come in handy on this build, which will be full of challenges.............
First challenge - where to put the motor and how to orient it(?) It's not only short for scale, it's also narrow and the FF-050 motor sort of overpowers it. It will definitely be a front motored car; just like the 1:1 racer.
I'm thinking, as Bob (chappy) mentioned earlier, that the only logical orientation for the motor is sideways (vertical instead of the usual horizontal). Here's an idea of where I'm heading:
Should be an interesting driveshaft extension/bearing set-up; looks like the shaft will need to go straight through the driver's torso (ooops!). But, there is room in the rear for the crown gear, so that's a plus.
Stay tuned............but it's apt to be a spell between installments on this build, which will need a custom brass chassis for the vertical installation of the slimcan motor. Time to think some more............... :think:
