I know Maxi Models does a RTR kit for these, but has anyone tried to do a "kit bash" version with one of the Lindberg Daytona Cobra static kits?

This was actually one of my first projects. I used a Hawk rear section and soldered up a front axle carrier. Cox Ford GT wheels, self-cast silicone tires. An old Marx 16D (the ones in the 1/24 cars). I didn't do much to lower it, as this was 20 years ago before we had all of these nice components.

It's injection molded, so it's a heavy body but not terrible for the price. If I can dig it out, I will post pics.

Yes, you will need to dump the front engine chassis.

I'm pretty sure that the Lindberg version has a side window shape that looks closer than the Rev-Mono version and I need an excuse to use the Lindberg version I bought years ago.

If you can figure out how to get chassis float on the RM coupe without it rattling around the track go with the stock chassis. I cannot get enough vertical movement without the front and rear valance flopping around.
