Last Eldon F1 Makeover! I promise!

Postby btaylor » Thu Jul 02, 2015 8:23 am

Had one body left, and had to do another build. This one might put a smile on a few faces. Here's the story
"Spring of 1965, Test day at Sebring." I see this, what appears to be Lotus bodied F1 car coming out of the pits. A closer look reveals a Small block Chevy V8 in a lotus Chassis and skin. Seams this one is being tested by a Small local shop in Fla. that builds a mean motor! This one is a de-stroked 327, with inverted heads, running two hillborn small bore injectors per cylinder! this guy must be some kind of induction guru, as this thing is all custom made, and runs like the wind. Colors are nice too! I think I will stick around and see how this thing does out on the track.ImageImageImageImage

Yep love it, what a difference from the original production a little elbow grease makes.
Well done Sir Robert.

Thanks Guy's! For a car that is terribly out of scale, and inaccurate in every way, they sure are a lot fun!
If I can get hold of some more bodies, I would build more. The nice part is, the ones I have been using were just about to far gone to restore as originals.

No need to apologize for more cars. Most of us love these old cars. I have an Eldon Pontiac that will keep up with the newer stuff, however there is really not many Eldon parts left in it. Actually it is an Eldon body sitting on a conglomeration of PCS, Slot it, and NSR parts. Oh well, fun is fun.
