Great video!

This just occured to me. With a steerable front end, why not work on traction for the front tires?

With non-steerable fronts, all of the performance emphasis has been on having zero grip in the fronts. But, if the fronts can help you hold a line in a turn, then why not experiment around a little and see what putting some traction in the fronts does for performance?

Why not set it up for a 4-point ride and see? I agree that probably 90+%; maybe as much as 99+% of the front end steerability will come from the guide flag, but with the fronts lined up with the slot now, it might surprise you............. You'll get different handling characteristics just going from a 3-point to a 4 point ride; particularly on a routed wood track.

Nice thread and build, I am not an Oval guy, But the steering and drifting totally make that look much better! And the train rail for the steering I-beam is so obvious, I feel kinda stupid for not thinking of it before! :doh:

Love those Jalopies and I am so ready to get back to building, Counting the days! :drool:

Dave a comment and a question

I love, the video of the cars going round the track, But I was just thinking (and I know it would be a whole lot to bite off), but wouldn't it be cool if the thing had some leaf spring type suspension? The idea od it bucking and bouncing though the turns, just makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck! :lol:

Secondly, where's the build thread for the two tone car in your signature? I really want to see it close up! :banana-dance:
