You might want to check with Cjent over at American Slot Car World. I have used his aftermarket tires and they work very well on a wood track. I think you will be very happy.

I have one of the older DTM cars that the motor has been upgraded in and also a set of the "good tires" from American Slot Car World. It's a terror on our routed 1:32 track.
There is also a "Kit" to replace the guide pin with a guide flag. I've not tried it yet as the stock Carrera GO cars just run so well on my Carrera GO track I really don't want to screw around with them.
