Restoring A "Classic" - NINCO Porsche 911 GT1

At first this car may not say "classic" to you. And you would be right for the most part as it is not what we think of when we hear the term Ninco Classic.
But for me it sort of does. These early releases by NINCO were, and still are some of the most fun you can have in 1/32. Simple design, decent scale appeal, and once tuned they can run as smoothly as any other car.

Released in 1999 this model came standard with an NC-1. I have a running mate that is in stock form with this motor.
In that same year NINCO changed the motor on the last release to an NC-2 (they never could keep anything the same) but all before it had the NC-1. (7 versions total)
Of course the model was looked upon as underpowered, yet it only came with a very weak Ferrite block magnet up front and it was a lot of fun to drive for those that appreciated it.
After running some of these early models during our "Summerfest" a couple weeks ago, I decided to try and find another to go with my fleet. I found this model on that "evil" auction site and it has arrived.
With the parts we now have today, I plan to restore it to run with the models I have. The body needs a good wash and maybe a touch of clear to get it looking better. At least it is intact on the outside.
On the inside it is a whole new story.

You would not think anyone would put a Cartrix part in a slot car on purpose today, but back then the pickin's were slim.
I'll need a new motor mount as I do not want to make one for this car.
Wheels are ok, but it has seen some hard use. Bushings and axle are suspect and the crown shows wear. I might convert the rear entirely, yet keep the standard gear ratio for compatibility.
So work begins :) I'll update as usual as time permits. Full plate of projects here and did not need another...but I just had to do it.
