Revogram Jag tuning

Just getting started in this car. Axle was bad and one wheel hub cracked a hairline, so ordered the little toys to fix the big one :)

Had the wheels come in and cut down the originals for inserts.



Tire/wheel combo is as close as I could ask.

Chassis & motor work now. Hopefully it turns out ok for our classic series.

I'll have to check with HRWJim and Junior to make sure they are within the specs.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this Harry as I just received a present of 3 of them :o from an 'admirer'.

Not even taken one out of the box yet. Busily trying to deal with a Revellogram Daytona Coupe that was also in the box.

Actually, I've justi realised I have more E-types on the shelves than any other car. Add on XK120s and there are more Jags than His Lordship's Morgan's currently. He won't be happy.

A quick way to get them nicer is to shim the guide down and sand the front tires to true them. They support the front a lot more than needed and cause a lot of chatter in non-mag form.

That little adjustment does wonders and will likely all you would need to have fun with it.

Chassis Mods Part 1



Notice I removed material that is directly under the interior. I thought the interior was too close and possibly rubbing.

After removing it, I could see where I did not need to. So...live and learn.

Slot.it gear in the rear. MT Racing classic motor.



Run great to me. Falls right into our classic series. It runs right along with some of the inlines, not the fastest...but not the slowest either. Plus it is just one nice looking car.

Lot of fun getting this finally in the line up.

Sigh... I'm obviously going to have to invest in some of those MT/1 motors. (Great...more money!)

I've got a drawer full of motors that I've been given by fellow slotters over the last few years, but they are all faster than I need for my little track and the classic cars that I like best.

Now THAT"S my kind of slotter. Sometimes I think we need a protest movement in favor of motors that drive a car at a top scale speed of say, 200mph? Someone on HRW years ago worked out that the new NSR of the day ended the straight around 450mph.

It has got to be more than that. My Chevron at the LSR hit 13 mph -- it had a dying motor but we could test the timing with it. 13*32= 416 mph. BTW, it is a linear calculation and not a cubic one - there was a debate in Britain about this and I went to physics professors for the obvious answer. Please don't start it here.

Jag tuning has commenced with a vengence. Chassis trimmed and mount holes attended to. M/T-1 in place (thanks H).

You may notice I'm a little more heavy handed with motor shaft stabilisation than Harry. I only have access to a very thin heat shrink but it works well with a sleeve of 1/8 brass tube over the top.

It really is quite amazing just how much even this little mod can make to the handling of a front motored car. This mod alone was enough to turn a Caterham from undriveable without a magnet to something a little more manageable. Will take a lot more work to make it fun though.

Good to see this, and you are 100% correct. Just working on the driveline does wonders.
