My group has a lot of fun with Carrera DTM cars. Last night we did a 12 minute no mag D132 race with four cars. The first 6 minutes were with the house lights on and the final with them off. Lots of action, less deslots after the lights went off, I suppose we drive more attentively.

Until the Carrera BMW DTM arrives, the Rahal-Letterman Racing BMW touring car makes for a good substitute to mix it up with the MBZ's and Audi's.

Okay, who owns SCX now? Oh yeah, it's Carrera.

I'm not really sure what is going on there, what products will be kept, which ones tossed. For that reason alone we decided to shy away from the SCX cars. We would hate to see the SCX cars have a decided performance advantage during our racing and only one or two folks having them in the group.

We like the Carrera cars as they already have about 9 or 10 liveries either produced and out of production, in production or soon to be in production.

The other part we like about the Carrera product at this time is the "Carrera Elf" by the name of Dave Kennedy. He is taking care of us US folks and making sure we get the kind of cars coming to the US that we like and will buy. It's a double edged sword.

Thanks for the Kudos. We're working hard towards having some outstanding racing - most of it a whole lot of FUN at our club.

RMinAustralia- Thanks for posting those shots. The finish on that car looks amazing! Now I need to think up reasons for me to not buy it. :think: There aren't too many modern racers that catch my eye, but this has me thinking that I should make an exception for German touring cars.

When you buy a Carrera car, you get your moneys worth in pieces and parts!

Those motor pods are usually pretty tight in the chassis. I always file/grind the pod and the area it sits in so it has some wobble when the screw is left loose. Also, see how skinny those rear tires are? SCC says a 1402R may fit, I've not tried that yet. I usually pop in a rear axle from a C6R so it runs the same 1408 as the Audi DTM.

My next plan is to glue the chassis mounted aero stuff to the body to get proper float. You can save about 10 gr. weight if you replace the driver tray with a driver card.
