I love the front stub-axle fix. And you've shown that you can keep at least the majority of the stock running gear intact and still have a solid slot car.

M_Delaneyfan- Good choice of livery there. Some of the ones offered for this car leave me asking "why?" but that's a looker right there.

Only the very inside of the tire would touch, if at all, on the straight. I suppose the same effect could be had by using European slightly tapered front tires. Neumatico perfil bajo "conico" according to the packet.

Real reason ?

Looks. Competition 1:1 cars usually have a bit of negative camber. Solid axle slots can't because of the axle but independent ones like Fly front motored cars could have if drilled that way when being modified.

Agreed if for serious competition that may effect the front end stability effect but for running laps it is not so much of a problem.

Looks perhaps. I guess that is a matter of taste. I prefer the straight look. The amount of neg camber isn't enough for me to go through trying to drill it at a correct angle.

Even though I do not race in organized events, I still like to set up my models for the best performance. The tripod setup is optimal so that is where I will keep it. Once the height is set and the tires sanded, very little is touching.

Just personal preference.

Ha...no magic dust. But..."The Stuff" is on the gears helping to break it in.

Can't see why you could not enter it. Unless they make a lot of rules that somehow makes it illegal. If so, I might hold one myself in the spirit of simple fun and let folks have at it.

On another note, on some FLY and other brands you need to watch for tire to body contact. Sometimes the camber can cause it to rub the body. Then you will need to sand the tire or the body. I don't like to profile my tires too much to take away from the scale appeal. If possible of course.
