Those kits from a few years back...are back. They are in "blister" card format.
Just got this in from my "Chicago Connection" thanks Mr. Urbas!

First time I have seen those in bubble packs. I have been using the boxed versions for a long time
and they make excellent slot car bodies.

I used to use Artin. Now I am thinking scratch or maybe just find a deal on an old ride from a specials.
Dave, Tom says he is finding them up there?

The PCS chassis works great

There is a big box store up here that has the kits for $10 and they have had them on sale in the past for 50% off.

WHICH big box store???
Old Scaley F-1 chassis are fun with that particular one. I used a Slot.it chassis for the '55 Chevy, a scratchbuilt chassis for the Mustang, and I did one more but I can't remember which it was. I remember I gave it to a newbie, but I don't remember who. I am getting old, ya know...

Both are on PCS chassis. No cuts on the yellow one, just left the front fenders off. I picked up #65 at a model show, the guy was starting to build it as a slot car using parts from a Scaley IRL chassis with I threw in the part box. He cut the rear fenders off so I didn't have much to do other than a little sanding and paint.
The store is Meijer, its regional to IL, IN, OH, KY and MI

They are BWA wheels, I just cut the tires WAY down....
The angle of the pic makes the front axle look like it is far back but it isn't.

I don't think that the '55 Chevy has been re-issued, it is not on the Revell website. SMR had a class just for those bodies on a Slot.it HRS chassis, since those bodies are harder to come by we renamed the class as Sportsman and '55-'65 American full sized and mid sized bodies may be used.

Here is my collection of snap tite '55 chevys.
They are all sitting on scaley IRL chassis.
They fit perfectly on that chassis.

Junior usually buys his stuff at Meijer, but there aren't any near my house. Hobby Lobby has the boxed
versions. I bought one of the '55 Chevies last year, in their "Road Chill" series. It comes with a blower
but fortunately the hood is not pre-cut out for it. There is no chrome, and the wheels for this series
are solid plastic. But you don't use the wheels in building a slot car, so it don't matter.

Here are two, the yellow one on a F1 SCX chassis which I like since it has all the steering linkage showing.
The green one is on a Scally Audi chassis.
Working on the mustang to put under a Pioneer chassis.
